Nail Separation

Nail Separation is a common nail disorder in which the nail plate has separated from the nailbed; typically resulting in a well-defined area of white opaque nails.

It may result from:

  • Trauma
  • Skin Disease
  • Nail Infections
  • Extremely thin nail plate
  • Photo-onycholysis which is due to ingestion of photosensitizer such as medication
  • Underlying health conditions
  • Excessive heat spikes

 

HOW TO USE THE RECOMMENDED PRODUCT

  • First line of treatment is to trim the separated nail section.
  • The exposed nailbed should be gently massaged up to 3 times a day with the cuticle salve.

EVENING ROUTINE

  • Once in the evening, a drop of serum should be applied onto the nailbed after the cuticle salve and the gloves provided worn.
  • Gloves should be worn for at least 4 hours; however, for best results we recommend that one sleeps in gloves every day for the first 1 month.
  • As the nail continues to grow ensure that they are kept short through continued trimming until the full nail reattachment is achieved.
